John Korchuk presents:

MAKE MUSIC NEW JERSEY BEGINS!

A global celebration of music making, free.

Following the tremendous success of Make Music NY, a network of New Jersey residents has started Make Music NJ (MMNJ) which will take place on Summer Solstice, Friday June 21, 2013 throughout NJ. MMNJ will take place simultaneously with similar festivities in more than 460 cities around the world.

The Make Music concept is to make your city a huge, free celebration of music-making open to anyone who wants to take part, and enjoyed by everyone who wants to attend. Musicians – professional and amateur, neighbors and friends, kids and adults – from every country, tradition, background, and style – are all encouraged to join in on your own porch, front and backyards, in schools, community centers, cultural organizations, and businesses.  Just keep it legal, safe, unamplified (unless you have permission from your town and your neighbors) and between the hours of 5-9pm.

We will be creating a database where you can tell us what you’ll be doing, when and where.  We will list all events taking place throughout New Jersey and we will provide all participants a banner to place in front of their house so their communities will know they can expect to hear music.

Each participant is responsible for their own event.  MMNJ is just beginning as an organization and is solely created to encourage music making on Summer Solstice. We are not organizing events, but we are here to help you do that yourself.  Please check with your local community board or town hall to discuss permits and other issues.

Please join our email list for news, info and details, and check back here often.

Gorgeous “Avis Sapiens” in the Great Falls National Historical Park 5th Annual Paterson Artwalk.

Corneille Driezen

We explored our park and created a new way of looking at it. On May 18, 2013, Corneille Driezen came to the Paterson, New Jersey to

share something with us. He gave us three images and invited us to exhibit them in our park. We were proud of our exhibit and grateful to all of the artists and vendors who participated in the rain:( But it was cool. We did it. Finally… we are in the park! Arts have emerged in our community!

I’m feeling very happy for us all! And Corneille Driezen?

He was generous in leaving us 60 prints of his “Wise Birds.”

Paterson Artwalk! Opens May 18

The Great Falls: “National and Historical” :) That’s Right!

Come to the Falls from 9Am-9PM on

May 18, 2013

This is the Call for Artists, Historians, Performance Artists, Crafters… you know who you are:)

Bring your installations into this beautiful natural and historical setting.

On May 18 we will enjoy arts and a day in a very unique location on earth.

There’s lots of stories to tell.

And we will be together in the outdoors, in our Park.

We will do what people did a long time ago for entertainment:)

explored through and alongside the arts that help bring it all out!

And please!!!  Let’s plan for rain:(

If we expect rain and start from there … it can only be easier!

Monsoons of course are a no!

but let’s plan to feel this out and see how we can get into that park!

Just don’t forget that everything must be removed before we leave for the night.

But that’s not all. The Paterson Falls Film Festival is also in the walk

and all the other points of interest that we love to brag about in Paterson.
