I See Monsters, I See Beauty

I post it as it is given to me and I have to go from there so, yes!

Welcome to the “I see Monsters, I see Beauty” Show
And IAM not surprised that our theme rings so true for us.
IAM astounded at the distortion and deflection of truth for power.
And how monstrous that is…
IAM in search of the beauty in it, cause that’s how IAM.
So then we get “this!” and all at once the IAM is back in “it” again.
Indeed!
IAM deep in the throes of success as an authentic stomping ground for the art spirit.
…a sanctuary for the kindred.
The Ivanhoe nurtures the artist in us once more and IAM so grateful for that!
It is beautiful and that’s why we just can’t get enough.
And as always, we are here to offer it up to you.
We are at your service! All the usual suspects! Addicted to the lifestyle!
Dedicated to the possibilities in it all!

Turning Blue

Oh yeah! I hope you realize how serious this is and how painful it can be! It’s cold and IAM out here again, trying to make sure something happens. After all, The holidays passed without incident and IAM still waiting! I know you know what I mean. And IAM not talking about love! Well, maybe somewhere in there. But when we say IAM “turning blue” It’s not so much an emotional thing… By the time that happens your already blue…Turning blue is the process, the part before you actually reach full blueness. It’s the cold hands, chattering teeth, blue lips (only). And then, maybe the old, “Can’t wait to have some more of that!” too… Oh Yeah! But, Hey, It is cold! And on top of everything I can’t get my car started!

It ’s not funny really, this is all true!Even Wall Street knows what we mean when we say… IAM Turning Blue! Yes I had to go there, I saw it in the google! And it really does happen. Just after the Holidays, there’s this long slow grinding halt!The long cold days of winter, and the anxiety, waiting… Ouch! …the hold out… the time that has to pass before something happens! Sometimes it can seem like forever! But it has to be done. Time has to pass before we see the crocus. And fortunately, we believe in the future enough to know that we will. And there you have it. The philosophical full – circle. You can’t have the anticipation with out the knowledge that “it” will occur. You “will” see tomorrow and spring “will” arrive and yes dear! … “that” too. You know good things come to those who wait! And we know you have been waiting to hear what’s next with us! So we invite you once more to the Ivanhoe For a look at this??? condition of ours… Some of us more than others I think! But we hope to enjoy a few laughs and ponder a few concepts concerning this cold and difficult state and kick off the New Year at the “Turning Blue Show” Featuring art works of Donata Reilly Nicola Domanchuk Don Kommit Bill Strue Christine Conforti Walter Eres Cindy Martinez Featuring our Blue Performances under the Musical Direction of Michael De Patria. It was Scarlet and Crimson Holiday in ”Shimmer and Shine”

The sweet holiday story of love and renewal. Love conquers all for this classic 21st Century family. Glamour and Romance are alive and well in PATERSON! And IAM so proud of Paterson today! We did it again in spite of all the madness!

Breaking through finally,like the stars in our eyes as we hope and dream and feel the love we long to share! Thank you Marcia Julian for working like you do, crazy as you are and beautiful too! Did you recognize me?

Yes! IAM just little me! Playing along.Trying to make it fun for everybody! But I did get the chance to see my city at its’ best, sharing in the promise of another years labors and reflecting back the desire for fellowship here! We have it! The boys in white agree!

A great time was had by all!

The IAM does it again and we can’t be stopped! It is just the beginning of what we have planned for our beloved city!

Alone in Deep Space

IAM certain this too will pass IAM Out Here Again! And IAM inviting you! Join us on October 22 at 6pm

for an exhibit of the unique works created by the children who participated in the IAM’s Summer’s Outreach Program funded by PCCHC, The Paterson Children’s Fund Tri-County Lexus! Catch up with us as we show off our Projections in a Presentation Capturing the good things we can do when we work as a team! And dont miss the fun at on October 25 at 7pm at the reception for:

… an installation and exhibit of street art and a performance by Animal Crackers brought to you by Darren Baskinger.

This theme is especially interesting when these times create such deep and lonely feelings for so many of us. IAM acknowledging our place as miniscule and isolated in this huge and infinite space of possibilities.

Good or bad, we feel the reality of our mortality. No longer do we see ourselves as immortal. And why ? When so many of us believe in the afterlife? As our temporal and earthly wealth fails us, we begin to look back to each other for moral support. But our morale is gasping as our counter-parts starve around us, literally, figuratively and morally, and we float in what feels like a sea of emptiness. IAM not the only one! and in that sense IAM not alone at all. AM I? It is ambiguous and life as we know it takes a turn. Whether we like it or not. The yesterday we knew is gone.Our innocence is shaken and we are facing another test. Let’s agree. This is a test. It is only a test and we will pass this one too! I AM confident that this too shall pass! So put your fears and worries on hold and expect that things will work out. Life will go on and IAM here to remind you of that once more. Art at its’ most important moments. And dont forget to see us at the Holiday Parade December 13 and on the web. www.ivahoeartists.org
